Quick update - The phone did not charge so I've purchased the blackhat adapter. I have also copied the entire houseofmoto folder to my win7 machine.

I'll try it from there instead and will update you guys if it worked or not. Thanks for your help!

Hi all.  As you may notice, I'm new on here and haven't quite figured out the posting options!

I have a Droid Maxx that was previously rooted using Rockmymoto.  I've been avoiding the new OTA update for this reason, but the message kept coming up.  This time, the download message came up as i tapped the screen, hitting the "install now" button.  And just like that, my phone is stuck in a bootloop.  it successfully boots up and establishes signal (receiving texts, etc), but total up time is only about 50 secs.  i can access ap fastboot flashmode, but neither the "recovery" nor the "factory" options seem to do anything.  resetting from within the system aint happening.  I've followed (or so i believe) the instructions indicated, but the process halts after selecting the flash option and pressing a key.  the rsdlite window pops up and quickly closes out, and then i get the "any key" message:

Please ensure your phone is:
o] Charged
o] Connected to USB using your OEM cable
o] USB drivers are installed
o] Booted to AP Fastboot mode: [power off, hold volume down and press power]

Ready to flash...
Press any key to continue . . .

Flashing: KEEP-DATA_xt1080.xml
Press any key to continue . . .

upon pressing a key, i am simply taken back to the main menu.  i've tried using the keep-data and full options on both flash modes.  the flashboot option nets the below:

Please ensure your phone is:
o] Charged
o] Connected to USB using your OEM cable
o] USB drivers are installed
o] Booted to AP Fastboot mode: [power off, hold volume down and press power]

Ready to flash...
Press any key to continue . . .

Flashing: FULL_xt1080.bat
< waiting for device >

and nothing happens..forever.  Excuse my ignorance when it comes to posting, but i've always managed to tackle any issues that have arisen in the past simply by checking <a lot of> posts, never needing to post...until now :( .  Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

Your phone isn't being recognized. It must be in ap fastboot mode, using the original oem cable, on a USB 2 port not USB 3, and the latest moto driver must be installed.

ok its working!

I had to delete the house of moto folder and start from scratch.

I also downloaded the latest moto usb drivers rather than following your link.

Starting over and using the official Motorola drivers seems to have fixed the issues I was having flashing the phone.

Thanks for sending me the adapter I really needed that as well.

I'll leave it to do its thing and see if it completes.

and it worked!

Additional notes: not sure why it failed on win8 when i had a full charge but on win7 it worked just fine.

Be sure to run cmd as an administrator! if you run houseofmoto.bat for the first time and get a file not found error even though you followed all directions properly, running cmd.exe as an admin will fix it (just run houseofmoto.bat again)

Other than that the phone is unbricked, upgraded, and runs much better than before!

thanks for your help and this awesome tool!

why is it that everytime I try running the houseofmoto.bat and when I type in the name it says "file not found" ? I have everything in the right place.

FWIW, the latest drivers (without all the other Moto crap) are in my sig.  I've archived the individual x86 and x64 .MSI extracts in three formats too, for Win 8/8.1 users that  cannot use the direct .MSI file to install the drivers.

@SamuriHL - feel free to link to them and / or grab them and host them yourself if you see fit.  :D

See that post.  I'm about to update the FXZ Script generator to remove the GPT_MAIN0.bin line from the UNIVERSAL script.  Give me a little bit of time to get that update out and post a new version of the script generator.  I will post another reply when that's done.  Less than an hour.

ATTENTION:

New version of the FXZ Script Generator released.  (Yea, I know, I don't use version numbers on this.  Oh well.  LOL)

Fixed:

emstorage error on Bionic

Added:

Automatic UNIVERSAL script generation for HD/M

Grab the new version from the FXZ Script Generator thread and regenerate your scripts.

It's not quite that easy, but, close.  Use the HoM universal script on the latest FXZ (which is not the latest OTA as that FXZ isn't out yet).  Then use the OTA (NOT the soak) to upgrade and that'll fix the issue.

Why did you try to downgrade using something OTHER than the universal script?  :(  You can't downgrade TZ or gpt_main0.  That's why I created the universal script.  Follow my directions and it'll fix it.  If not, we'll have to do something really fun.  LOL

Added a warning in the OP for unlocked HD/M users to only use the UNIVERSAL script for downgrading...

Used bweN diorD's modded utility to reformat the GPT partitions,  I will post where that puts me.  Sam are you saying to grab the latest FXZ in the sbfdroid developers section? This just put me back to 9.30 I think I can flash TWRP flask a stock backup, and start over again, or am i wrong

I am saying exactly that, yes.  Get the 9.30.1 FXZ, use my UNIVERSAL script to flash it, then you should be able to take the OTA update.  (Not the soak)
