Rooted XT912 JB Stock with Matts Utility. Yet I can't write in the root folder of my device. Am I missing something? I am assuming there is a setting in my device I need to change, but I cant find it! If anyone has a quick fix please share. Also is there a way I can flash mods without Safestrap? Thanks!

Depending on what "mods" you want.... you can do some via ADB..... of course its a bit more risky but some can be done nonetheless............ as far as your "root" folder.... not sure what you are trying do there......

Not sure what file manager you are using but for Root Explorer you hit the r/w box to put it into r/w mode. In ES its in the preferences somewhere.

for terminal, you would need to su first....

Well I am installing Backtrack 5 into my phone. I need write permissions to the " root folder of the sd card where I can save the img file." As for the mods I forget what its called, but I'm looking for a mod to make it free for hosting wifi hotspots. A lot of custom roms like Black widow and CM have it.

Not sure what file manager you are using but for Root Explorer you hit the r/w box to put it into r/w mode. In ES its in the preferences somewhere.

I am using ES File Explorer. Yeah I just cant find the settings. I also need su perms for the terminal.. I am rooted, but I didn't get a pop up for it asking for perms.

Just so I can have a little bit of a laugh, you are trying to install BT5 and are also asking about "that wifi hack".... sorry to sound mean, but thank you for the chuckle.

if you didnt get prompted when you tried su then it sounds like you are not rooted.

for the wifi hack you can poke around the forum, its been answered many many times.

I have corrected the issue, I was able to write it to a different folder and find it with the terminal. As for "that WiFi hack" I'm not sure if you know what I mean I know its ironic that I'm asking for a penetration testing os and something to host WiFi at the cost of my data plan, I was only interested in this because I have Kali on my laptop and it works great and I wanted to try out backtrack. Anyway if you want to see some screenshots of backtrack in action I'll post em!!!
