I've used SMS Backup & Restore with my old Droid X2, but it didn't restore the timestamps correctly so all of the texts showed sent/received as the same time and was completely out of order. So my question is, which app are you guys using that successfully restores text messages with the correct time stamps?

Thank you!

I WAS using GoSMS but with the latest version, you can ONLY backup to their cloud. It wouldn't be bad if you still had the option to backup to my phone in addition to the cloud.

I still use GoSMS as my messaging app, but I don't use it to backup.

I've switched over to SMS B&R and have had no problems with it.

I use Appextractor to restore SMS & MMS from CWM or Safestrap backups.

I use SMS Backup and Restore. It saves them in a xml to your SD card and then restores them when you reinstall app on new ROM. Never gone wrong with it, and it's free! :P

Thanks for the replies, all! Does My Backup Pro backup and restore both SMS and MMS messages? If so, does it restore them (including MMS messages) with the correct timestamps? Thanks!

I second MyBackupPro. I've been using it for years and it works great.

Sms backup/restore, and call log backup/restore. Both by the same dev, both awesome, don't require root...

My timestamps are fine, and always have been with this app.

I use backup to Gmail. Not sure how well it restores texts as I have no need to have years of text history of my phone. I just search Gmail if I need to find something.
