There is a difference between owned and being ran by Google...

Believe me, I'd love Google to kick the doors in and unlock them bootloaders, push out updates left and right, but not gonna happen..

We'll see I guess. As soon as the Moto acquisition became official, Google immediately announced they were putting one of their own in as CEO to replace Sanjay.

The next 6 months will be an acid test, in my mind, for whether or not Google has the right amount of influence on Moto. I will be watching for:

1. If the Razr/Maxx gets Jellybean
2. If #1 happens, how long it takes
3. Bootloader unlock (I'm not buying that the holdup is Verizon bc the Wifi-only Xyboard has a locked Bootloader too)

These 3 will play a role in whether I buy another Motorola phone, whether I pursue Nexus devices exclusively, or whether I completely give up and get a ...gasp.....iPhone.

Instead of banning me, wouldn't it be more fun to write a script that puts "I love Apple" at the end of everything I post (or something like that)?

Only Moto. A friend of mine has a Wifi Xyboard with a locked boot loader. My thing is whats the point? No carrier to lock it. I put the blame solely on moto for the bootloader

I agree with this and have asked moto many times without a answer. They started out saying the bootloaders would be unlocked with carrier approval or something like that. I have the 8.2 wifi only Xyboard as well and its locked up tight. There are no carriers involved here so this leads me to think the bootloaders being locked is solely because of moto.

My RAZR bleeds awesomeness!

There are a bunch of what ifs here. I expect us to find a leak on motos servers by next month. Its when they want free testing, they will put it up: ) That's great and all then again we will be forced with the same issues as before, no source. So basically we are always in a rat race with Google.

So far it seems Jelly Bean is getting rave reviews. For an incremental update there is some awesome stuff going on here....

Also read the comments for more info. Between this and ICS I think Google is finally kicking down some doors...
