I am still on the first leak .75 and on Bootstrap. What is the best ROM to flash while on Bootstrap? I do not want to go to Safestrap at this time, so i'm just intersted with Bootstrap.
Thanks!

Moved on to the LG G2 on VZW and lovin it!

Curious as to your reasons not to use safestrap.

If you really want to take full advantage of your device and flash roms, safestrap is the place to be right now.

I was on SS at one time but didn't want to deal with all the safe and non-safe disable/enable process. Hence Bootstrap.

Major procrastination(sp). It's time now to get to 211 one way or another...my current is so smooth and configured without any issues though.

Once you're in safe mode....its pretty much bootstrap....You should rarely have to switch to begin with and switching safe to non safe is a few mins tops anyway....I dont see the pain at all

Hence why you're not gonna find a bootstrap capable ROM anymore...SS is just all around better...If you want ROMs....you're just gonna have to go SS

I suppose I should stop all this fuss and go back to SS. Will find time on the weekend and take the plunge again. So many ROMs to choose from now.

Safestrap is a great way to go back to a stock build if you're having trouble with a custom Rom and you need your phone to perform reliably when you're away from a computer. Just toggle safe system off and worry about fixing your custom Rom issues later. Screw up on bootstrap , and you're AP fastbooting if you don't have a reliable nandroid you can restore.

make sure you don't try to install safestrap with bootstrap still installed, that'll cause problems

I thought you couldn't use bootstrap if you were on 211 or above. (It seems all the ROMS and Themes require safestrap 2.0)

You usually can't. I don't know why though...

You can use bootstrap all you want but you're not going to be flashing much with it since all current ICS ROMs require safestrap.

Does safestrap prevent webtop from working on all the custom roms?

What about the new touch screen cwm? Doesn't that work with all safe strap roms?

Maybe someone can explain how safestrap works as compared to bootstrap and why they are not interchangeable?

This happened to me yesterday....didnt have time to mess with my ROM....needed my phone for work...and bamm....I was good to go....

I actually never felt comfortable flashing ROM's until Safestrap came out...

I was on .75 when it first dropped and I will promise you, there is nothing smooth about .75 when compared to .211

I don't know why they're not interchangeable but the main difference is safestrap keeps your stock system in place and backed up. Thne you can switch over to the safe side and flash and brick and boot loop until your heart is content. And if need be, just disable safe system and be back on stock rooted in a matter of minutes. These days, there is no reason NOT to use safestrap. And as another user already said, once you're on the safe side its UI is exactly the same as bootstrap, which is basically a Clockwork Mod style recovery.
