Since a few of us got onboard after the bootloader lockdown, what are our options to get our devices cleared up and running better? I have been disabling as much garbage as I can identify, a list off what can be disabled would be appreciated. I have noticed that restricting background apps does not do anything and that verizon remote assistance keeps running in the background. So yea, please advise.

Thanks!

Are you rooted??

If so you can use Safestrap to load a few of the stock based roms

If you're talking about disabling apps in the settings you're probably fine with doing anything you want. Especially Big V bloatware. There are de-bloated roms that have all that stuff removed and still function perfectly

Yes, that is what I am talking about. Some items I can disable are not obvious. Attached is a screen shot of a few of the apps I am referring to. There are many more.

Yeah I wouldn't touch anything that is not a specific apk. All that com stuff is android related. Leave that going.

That sucks. Just sitting idle my phone is at 87% RAM used. Soo bogged down that sometimes the keyboard locks up.

I hear ya man. Have you done a factory reset. Sometimes after updates things go screwy and a Factory reset helps out.

Also.... once you disable your choice of apps.... you should be able to boot into stock recovery and wipe cache.... that will help out a bit as well....:)

Hmmm... I don't remember how to do that. Had the link saved on my phone... gone now. Lol. Would you be so kind as to remind me?

No problem....:) ...... you simply power off.... hold power and volume up + volume down .... when the menu come up... use volume down to highlight recovery .... then volume up to select it...... if the droid with the triangle comes up..... hit both volume buttons at the same time and you should boot into recovery...:)

I guess the only ones with a good phone are the ones who have root. Full reset, disabled as many apps as I could figure, wiped cache. 76% RAM used at idle... le sigh.Posted Image
