I used samurai root from locked 98.18.78.
Rooted
Saved root through voodoo ota.
Updated to 98.30.1.
Was scared to see voodoo said I was not rooted ahhh. Pressed restore root. Crossed fingers. Boom root restored!!!

Just keep in mind that you are on a one way road with no more gas stations...... you run out of gas, that's all she wrote....

Yea, this isn't a great strategy. Sure you maintain root through this update. If you FXZ, root's gone permanently. It's all well and good to say you won't ever have to do that, but, even non-rooted users have issues from time to time that are fixed with an FXZ.

I edited the title to prevent confusion. Some may have not read it thoroughly and assumed we have found root for .30

Yeah, it's worked for some people, but other people haven't had any luck. Glad that you got it, though.

So like I used system cleaner root to test it see if I get storage back. Now I'm getting Android is Upgrading every time I reboot. Its wiping my dalvik cache every time now. Its really annoying. Even after uninstall. If I reflashed a system.IMG I would lose root but would voodoo ota save me? Idk this stupid constant wipe is just a nuisance I suppose. Sucks
...and this is why you don't update when there's no root.
If you can't find the file and delete and you decide to re-flash, you're hosed. Voodoo might work, but it might not.
