I need help…PLEASE! I rooted my DROID Razr 2 days ago using Razr Blade. I'm sure I did everything right since it's so simple to do (just follow the prompts). I didn't have any issues with that. Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to start fresh with my rooted Razr so I downloaded Titanium Backup, backed up everything to my SD card and performed a factory reset. This is what I'm working with, what I did, and what happens...

Droid Razr XT912

System Version: 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US

Android Version: 4.1.2

After performing the factory reset, I started setting up the phone. I got all the way to the screen where you setup your Google acct and that's when I got the window saying, "Unfortunately, setup has stopped." I press OK and the screen goes blank. I tried again (factory reset) and got the same exact results. I cannot get it to finish setup for some reason. I've tried multiple times.

I also tried wiping the cache and rebooting. When I did that, it got past the boot up animation screen and I got a window saying, "Android Upgrading" and either, "starting apps" or "finishing boot." I waited for a while to see if it would, in fact, finish but it never did. The last time I tried, I let it "upgrade" ALL NIGHT and woke up this morning to the same screen, "Android Upgrading". The only way I can get it to stop is to have someone call me which I guess interrupts the "upgrading" process.

I can make and receive phone calls but that's it so I don't think it's bricked. I don't have a home screen (it's blank), no apps, nothing! Does anybody have ANY idea what I can do. I'm stuck!

This is where I got Razr Blade from:

I tried running the JB Utility but it closes after the Batman screen. I thought it could be the drivers, so I went and tried to reinstall them from the Drivers folder of the utility and it tells me. "Unable to install because a newer version of this product is already installed". Any suggestions?

What did you extract the zip file with? Use WinRAR.

Correct me if I'm wrong...please.

1. I put my phone into AP Fastboot

2. Connect it to my computer

3. Click on WindowsUtility.bat

4. The Batman screen comes up and I press any key to continue (this is where it closes)

5. The next screen "should" give me the 4 options, correct.

Do I need to have USB Deugging checked for JB upgrade or the root process. Because right now, I only want to get a clean JB stock ROM.

Correct..

No need for debugging to be on. Utility will wipe everything. Then after you set up the phone use the Utility to root.

Thanks for the help. I think it was my home computer. I used my son's laptop and everything worked perfectly. I got the JB update AND rooted it all over. Thanks again!!!

mjohnson, the issue may have been the location of the utilities folder.  I mistakenly ran it from an ext hdd and got a similar issue where I couldn't see the menu options.  By copying the folder to the desktop, all issues were solved.
