ok, i totally screwed up. i rooted my maxx and all was well...until i rebooted. then it got hung on the boot screen and would not boot. so i used the DroidRAZRutility1.7 and wiped it...but then i got to where i needed to "apply an update from sdcard". that update doesn't exist. see, it was never saved before the phone tanked. so now, i have a wiped clean maxx that i have no clue how to simply install the STOCK ROM back on. i just want it back stock...can someone please help?!

Relax......ok step one!1) find the update package on this site Are you on ICS or GB?...2) take out your SD card from your phone.....get a card reader, all laptops and pc's have them now, or the adapter for a micro SD for your PC, find the update package and get it on your sd card, then make sure it is on the sd card on the Root of it so (open the card on the pc and copy it to it) then put the sd card back into your phone!!!! ,Open the Utility 1.8 or 1.7 failsafe... power up, immediately after you turn on the phone boot into AP FastBoot, power/vol+ / vol-simultaneously...after that select ap fast boot from the screen vol down to change then select using vol up, connect the your puter to phone with USB cable,
be patient, 3)on the utility select option 2 Unstuck...or un brick.......after it finishes......power up the phone , it will update then ...reboot your screen will show andy on his back with his trunk open and a red triangle, hit both volume buttons at the same time, you will now be in moto recovery , use the volume buttons to select update package from sd card option, navigate to the file and hit the power button, let it install, with any luck you will be back to stock, open the utility again with the phone on, and select root for.....ics 4.04 or 4.03 depending on your system connect the phone to pc again and blammo rooted and stock.....i hope this helps... good luck ....

thank you so much! i am trying to learn these things, i'm normally pretty tech savvy and was actually working on rooting my fiancee's Thunderbolt when i started reading more about it and decided that i wanted to root my Maxx. mine rooted really really easy and i was having fun playing with it (carefully, or so i thought) and then when i went to reboot it it wouldn't.

as for OS? i'm on ICS, just got the OTA update 2 days ago. where do i find the proper file? not to sound stupid (or more so, lol) but i see a lot of different DL's on here and i wanna make CERTAIN i'm loading the correct one...

again, thank you SO much! i think i'm gonna stick around here...

P.S.-i've been downloading the zip file from the "How To Unbrick Your Razr" write up on this site...will that procedure help me or am i looking at the wrong thing?

edit-i think i found the .211 update...does the link on the DroidRAZRUtility 1.7 page work ok?

Probably even better idea to have the most recent version of matt's utility. So many problems saved with that thing. Glad you got your bootloop fixed OP.
