. I was using the Beta 9,3.1 tether and it was random for me. It would work then stop and I would have to restart the app again. I tryed other wifi tether apps like FyFly if I typed it right. It worked the same, off and on. So, I broke down and did the SQlite and hacked the tether on my phone. Wow, does that work much much better. I needed bother usb/wireless tether. I am not rocking the 102 gigs but around close to 5 right now. I am using the usb tether right now on my desktop. (Love that I am GrandFathered in) The biggest question is how, can Verizon see that I am using the hotspot, that I have hacked it, and not paying for it? I am afraid that I will get a big bill or a letter saying I am being removed from there company or being sued. I am running Rom Razrx V1.2 right now and love it.
Thank you

Unless your data use spikes significantly you will be fine, and you won't be 'sued or removed from the company' even if they do notice.

But yeah I've noticed the stock app works way better than any other, most likely because it was designed by either Verizon or Motorola with 100% customer satisfaction in mind and extremely deep budgets.

:-D :-D

That makes me feel better. I am thinking I might hit around 20 gigs on the hi side. I do plan on streaming videos using the HDMI cable to my tv. I have my current rom backed up and also can go back to stock if need be. I do not let a Verizon rep touch my phone or mention root. I will keep that in mind and will monitor my usage to stay in the green.
Thank you

Ok, so now I have been told VZ can see all my internet activities. Now, I do not like that. I hear SSH Tunnel can encrypt my internet traffic (free on of lol Google Play)but will it do it so VZ cannot see. I.E when I hook my phone to my desktop and game or dl or surf. I am close to 10 gigs right now. I am setting a limit for myself of 20 gigs a month. I know with the newer smart phones, data will be eaten more then say the Droid 1 A855. Also, if I cannot encrypt my phone internet traffic. What torrents are safe to use that I can encrypt my traffic just like Utorrent? Then I can have it on my phone instead.
Thank you

I have unlimited data with Verizon. I pay $30 per month for unlimited hotspot/tethering. I prefer to keep it legal and it's not that much money.

That's exactly what I do. Change one value, Reset your phone. Bing! Bam! Boom! You use the built in Tethering / MHS app.
Combine that with a tethering widget, and it works just as well.

Although, I do like alternativie ways of doing things. You never know when Verizon/ Moto will address certain loopholes.
I shall try this when I get home.

Not to mention this method has the advantage of being free. You have to pay for SQLite I believe. ($3, but still... )

I agree if you use the hotspot for a main internet connection like myself. For those who use it very little and have a home connection I'd say get it free. I pay $24 a month for my hotspot because i use a lot of data.

I hope to get a Asus 700t when they come out. I'm going to use my Razr Maxx as the data source.
