I have a commuter case and a reusable screen protector I got off line. I dropped my bionic once and put little chips into the screen.

Gorilla glass only seems to protect better than normal glass at the CES demos. I personally have never found it to be anything to write home about. There are a ton of RAZR owners who have dropped their phones from waist height or less and it cracked.

I may be wrong but I don't think gorilla glass helps much with drops as much a it does scratches.

Ever since getting my Razr (two days before its release), I've tried my share of cases (both OB's offerings, Case Mate POP, VZW black glossy TPU, Body Glove, and a CF Point Mobi).
The things that I really look for are form, protection, feel, and if that the case will fit my car dock (which by far is my favorite accessory). And the only one that seemed to fit the bill nicely was the VZW TPU. It fit the car dock without any issues (unlike the CM POP, which was a killer for me).
I'd really would like to find a case that's as durable and thin as my TPU, without the power and volume buttons exposed (like on the OB Commuter). Does anyone know of such a case that fits the bill?

I don't have a dock for my Razr, yet, but I just received my OB Commuter case in the mail yesterday and love it.

Otterbox Commuter is the way to go. I have this case for 2 of my phones and it's solid. The Defender managed to let dirt get behind the built in screen protector on my SGS, so I won't try that one again. Not to mention the poor construction. I seriously hope they improved it for other phones.

I have the razar maxx and I found Best Buy has a Platinum series holster case for the Bionic that if you don't use the rubber case it will fit into the clip and you don't have to use any case. I like the maxx naked. I don't know it it will work with the first razar, but if you like the phone without any case try this out.

I hate to put any case around my phones, especially the Razr. The Razr so thin, light and beautiful and I can't see ruining it with a case. I always use a belt clip and I am so annoyed that the only belt clip case I have found forces me to put a thin case around the phone and then insert it in the belt clip. IT IS KILLING ME!

I just use a silicon case that's pretty lightweight (the moto one). It fits real snug around the edge of the screen, and has pretty sleek seams. I only use it because I know one of these days I'll get out of my car with it in my lap, and I need to protect its beautiful, sexy, smooth, touchable shoulders from scratches.

This is the case I have, and I have to say, pretty damn nice. Fits in the hand nice, back is like gripable, and it feels strong. :)
