Super duper huge, gigantic news guys! Bloomberg reports that Motorola will be releasing a device with NO BEZEL by the end of 2012! The phone supposedly "uses the entire front of the device as a display," and "maximizes the screen viewing space by eliminating the black frames or bezels around the display." The author actually claims that the device will have absolutely zero bezel, as in... uh... none. And take a look at the announcement for Moto's event on the 18th:

Considering Motorola's pension for wordplay, I would say it's a safe bet that this device will be taking the spotlight. An event announcing a bezel-les, Intel powered device that isn't on Verizon? What more could you ask for?!?

One thought that comes to mind is if it actually does have no bezel, how would one attach a hard case? Cover up part of the screen? Tusctwo brings up a bigger point, how in the world would you repair that?

But will it ever see key lime pie, or lemon drop (or what ever the one after that will be called)?

I hold my razr by the edges, not the screen.

I'm wondering if this will look like the iPhone. 2 pieces of glass with a band in the center

unless you're super careful, when you reach for the opposite side of the screen your palm will touch it. plus it could be too sensitive. iuno just looking at possibilities

Edge to edge to me means the width will be all screen with some bezel on top and bottom. I know you say bezel-less but that could just be the concept or hype, these things always change. I wouldn't buy it just for fear of dropping it and it breaking, what protective case would work with that also? Cool concept, though not practical.

Edge-to-edge means just what is pictured in the following article. Looks like September 5th is only announcing the Razr M and not the HD according to the latest leaks. That is unfortunate and disappointing:

Maybe Motorola's HD will get announced at the September 18th event? Who knows at this point.

The case issue is easy there will be a button or notch a hard case can use to grip on to and extend passed the front of the phone without covering the front of the phone creating a small ring that wouldnt allow the screen to touch the ground

It IS true. They will be "unlockable" but will NOT come from Verizon unlocked.

Are you talking about not being able to get the dev edition from Verizon stores and having to buy them from Motorola directly?

No not that at all, I'm saying when you buy the developer edition device, it will still be locked when you get it. You will be able to unlock it though. Not sure how but I heard that's how things run with Developer Edition phones.

If its like the D1 was you will be able to unlock it from the settings. Either that or you'll be able yo do it from the moto unlocker site
