Hey guys new to modding and coding cellphones. I am wondering how does one back up there phone? Like save apps and recover all scores.
Also so I dont have to download everything after remodding the phone. Like from going from one rom to the next. Thanks guys

1. SafeStrap has a backup restore function ( fore EVERYTHING) if you want to go back
2. when youre moving between roms i reccomend GoBackup or RomToolbox Pro..
3. For SMS i use SMS Backup & Restore Pro.

For my romming exploits those are what i use for backup and restore.. the Safestrap really is for going back to a favorite or last used rom.. ( if you find a fav, remember the file name of the backup) sdcard-ext/safestrap/

When just setting up a new rom i use numbers 2 and 3

Best way is to be rooted and buy Titanium backup.

If you are rooted there's a great app on the market called Titanium Backup. Theres also a pay version that's worth every penny because it will automatically restore all your apps with 1 clicks. It's Devs always update the app and keep it up to date with the latest code.

Some people don't like it because it enables you to restore app data as well, which may cause problems going from one rom to the next but it's best to just remember to just restore apps, not their data.

Titanium Back Up! Trust me

What kind of problems were you having? The only time I had issues is when trying to restore apps + data. Otherwise, never a problem.

IMO, TiBu is the most inclusive backup app there is.

when i would go to a new rom.. i couldnt get it to recognize the old backup. id have to manually ( file explorer or astro or whatever) and put the apps in one by one.. it didnt recognize that there were old backups there even though it waspointed at the right folder. ....which meant that even on the same rom or vzw version it wouldnt ever add data back much less the app itself. and i paid for the app...

RTBP has been a much better investment for me...

on a side note.. if you want SIMPLE and dont care to keep the data necessarily(didnt test this part) Go Backup was WAY easy to use.. except thats all it does is backup and restore..

TBU and RTBP are like swiss army knives.

No matter which u use for restoring apps. Both TiBu and Rom toolbox pro are valid investments. And when you do go for a custom rom, make sure you go with Jekyll Kexec CM9 ;-)
