its always a good idea to clear the cache and the dalvik-cache prior to flashing most anything.....
but will this clear out my rom?

no it wont..... you can pretty much wipe the cache anytime.... its a good practice to do it every so often anyway so things dont get "clogged up" and start running slowly.... its similar to clearing the junk and temporary files etc out of your computer....but will this clear out my rom?

there actually is a pretty good chance it may work on DROID HD (hard keys version only), to my knowledge Arctic is pretty much DROID HD with a custom theme and probably some (under the hood" differences....if anybody is willing to backup and test it, let us know how it goes
