Spent $150 on this phone. Stuck on bootloop no recovery (HAD SAFESTRAP)

Best Answer livinginkaos , 25 May 2014 - 01:23 PM

Try using house of Moto. It is java based. Have you uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled?

1. I tried to do an OTA update after rooting but it was always failing

2. Phone started booting in AP Fast Boot and had to manually start up phone

3. Started looking around and noticed custom roms were avail only via safestrap

4. downloaded safestrap 3 and used it and expiremented a bit with it

5. activated rom slot 1 and wiped "System" on it

6. Rebooted it and no more safe strap and only was avail to view and browse recovery mode

7. Used Fastboot command window and put a xt926 4.4.2 recovery.img in the folder and ran the "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and it showed this:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

8. rebooted and now no recovery or any boot menu comes up. only black screening, and the motorola logo. BUT pc is finding the phone when logo comes up.

I want to get this thing up and running again. Preferably on 4.4.2 or any stock rom..

I have the stock safestrap rom but i am not able to access it.

I HAVE tried RSD lite for 3 days straight and nothing I do will make it read my phone. (Installed + Uninstalled multiple drivers for motorola, motocast, Tried different versions of RSD LITE)

Someone please help I really need this phone running :(

With the power off, hold the volume down and touch and release the power while still holding volume down.

You have to get that thing charged. You don't want to flash anything on a low battery.

Then you can use that link I posted. Just be aware that since your device is locked, there will be no root if you do. If you haven't already stated flashing the 4.4.2 you can use rsd and flash the 9.30.1 build fxz .

I think it is charging right now. It's plugged in but keeps going to the motorola boot logo and just looping

How would I go about flashing it other than RSD lite. I cannot get my phone to show up. I tried ubuntu but you cant install it through a windows 8 pre-installed laptop because it is UFEI mode or something like that. Installed XP on virtual box but devices do not show and cant get internet to work on it. And cant dual boot xp and windows 8 because xp installation is greyed out

You can still duel boot Linux on a Win 8 laptop with ufei bootloader preinstalled. All one has to do is boot into your DOS menu and deactivate it, but there is a bit more that has to be done to completely duel boot. HOM would be your best bet like Kaos pointed out.

I run Linux in a VM on my W8.1 laptop where I develop the HoM.   Just make sure to read everything twice before doing.

If Pictures help set you up a bit better on Windows then this is my setup on my Windows side of House of Moto for my retired xt926.

These Screenshots were taken on my Linux Mint side which has access to my Windows Partition.... Hope this helps..

Well I Have all files set up like you do. My battery is low. Is it charging? I have it in the wall but the logo is on. If i hard reset it while it is on the charger (Hold Vol UP Vol DOWN and POWER) the screen goes black and the green led light is off. But when I plug it into the wall the light comes on UNTIL the logo comes up..

I just want this thing up and running like a normal phone.

Maybe you could just send me your files in a zip and i can extract them to my C:\ drive. Or we can use teamviewer?
