Has anyone tried to replace there phone cause of a cracked screen and had rooted there phone (put it back to stock before returning) and did they say anything about it being rooted? My screen its covered in cracks and I'm afraid to return it ever since the big brother is watching thread. what do y'all think?

Have returned 2 phones that had been rooted and unrooted before return with no issues. Never took one back for a broken screen so can't help you on that end.

Rooting does not void your warranty in whole. It legally can only void warranty when the damage is able to be shown to be caused by having root. Physical damage (short of overheating, and that is arguable) therefore can't be refused coverage as a result of root. To avoid a fight, still unroot before taking it in..

Refer to this thread for specifics.

As far as I know a cracked screen can't be replaced under warranty...

Correct, that would be insurance and they don't care about root regardless, though I'd unroot to avoid hassle anyways ;-)

My wifes phone has a spiderweb cracked screen after dropping it on concrete when some mean ol' yellowjacket stung her 4 times. She needs to go online and fill out some sort of claim form. I hope she doesn't have to send the old one back. It would make for a great experimental device.
