Hey guys,
PC Developer for 30+ years, here, but totally new to Android; finally dumped crackberry for a Moto Droid Razr. My newb question: What IS FastBoot, and how do I do it?

Fastboot is software and the protocol used to flash the different partitions on many Android devices. It varies by manufacturer. Many Motorola as well as nexus devices use fastboot to flash partitions.
