I had the same issue with the OTA failing no matter what (unfroze everything with TiBackup, unrooted, FDR'd)..... Gave up and used HoB, which went fine (read twice press once methodology).... when you think you got it, read again and go step by step.
I don't have much good to say about 905 but it does seem like 246 is a bit more battery-hungry. Then again, I haven't froze everything I think I can (speaking of, is there a "safe to freeze" list for 246 out there?). I froze something last year by accident that caused not-so-great things to happen, don't want experience that again.
