I had 232 installed and did a full FXZ to do the 246 OTA which I did and now I'm on the official ICS 246.
I did not run HOB.
Now I am trying to root with no success.
I'm stuck when I run Razrs Edge.. It ways "waiting for device"

I'm having a problem trying to root on my Bionic ICS official 246. I didn't run HOB

I can just share what I did

1. I downloaded the latest moto drivers and razrs edge tool from obsidians post in this forum

(click File, download and it will download all files as zip)
2. Installed latest moto drivers
3. MAKE SURE USB DEBUGGING IS ENABLED IN YOUR PHONE
4. Plugged phone into computer in USB mass storage mode, let it find drivers and finish - when done - you should see external and internal SD cards
5. Change USB mode to Media - let it install drivers - I then see a pop up when done with a window that shows droid bionic
6. This is optional - I then change to picture mode - let it install drivers, when done, I went back to media mode

Now, open run.bat in razr's edge tool and follow instructions.

This is assuming you're running windows (I am running windows 7)

I tried all that with no success.. Can someone please help??

When I plug in my phone all of the drivers install properly.
I get stuck when I run Razrs edge. It gets stuck at Waiting for Device.

SamuriHL: Please help... Can I use your 9.1 file to root only?
Should I just FXZ back to 905 and start again using HOB this time?
I've tried 3 pc's and 3 different cables with the same result everytime.

Do you have your usb debugging turned on in settings

Yes. I went to Settings>Developer options>USB debugging is checked
When I plug my phone into PC, my pull down menu shows USB debugging connected and Connected as a media device.
All the drivers installed correctly for the 3 usb settings you can choose from in phone.

I think I am just going to FXZ back to 905...and use HOB method.

Don't know what else to try.. I have rebooted my phone and pc too..

plug the usb cable into the BACK of your PC.. YES this makes a difference.. start there..

Since youre on 246 you WILL brick your phone if you go back to 905...

I guarantee you that sam wont help you if you brick this way... just sayin..

Ok.. so instead of FXZ back to 905, I just ran HOB FXZ to 246 and it installed correctly.
After that, I tried to use the root tool from HOB utility and I have the same issue "waiting for device"
RSD works fine.. I don't know.. I am reinstalling drivers again to see if that works

Pc finds device when I run RSD5.7 lite
It connects correctly when I plug it in and all drivers install correctly..
completely uninstalled all motorola drivers and reinstalled using the link from HOB.
rebooted rc and phone and tried again... still not working..

Factory reset the damn thing. I say all this in my FAQ that no one bothers to read and wonders why I get pissed off when I have to repeat stuff from it...
