I've been trying to get the ICS OTA for my Bionic for the past few days know, and doing so I inadvertently bricked my Bionic.
I was running stock .905, with the only change being that I was 4ever rooted.
Apparently this causes a problem in the OTA, so following the directions is this thread (

)
I deleted those last three lines in system/bin.
However, now when I start up the phone I am stuck in aa loop.

I installed RSDLite 5.7 but my Bionic does not show up, any suggestions on what to do?
?
EDIT: Does it not show up because my battery is low? I am using the Motorola supplied micro-USB cable. IS there any way I can charge my Bionic if it's stuck in bootloop?

Only if you have a dev cable. Anybody near you that could charge your battery for your?

And when you say doesn't show up, do you mean when you hold the volume up/down and power, and then select fastboot, it doesn't appear there?

Not that I know of. :[
I'll have to ask around my friends.
And yeah, my Bionic doesn't show up despite being in fastboot.

And when I have the phone plugged into a charger a battery with a question mark on it is displayed on the screen. Good thing or bad thing?

Bad thing, means it's not seeing your battery. You need a "factory" cable or an adapter to flash it without a battery or you need someone with a bionic to charge your battery. You're lucky to have that option. The razr folks are beat unless they want to take their phone apart and charge the battery that way.

Yes sir. That allows you to plug in your phone and circumvent the battery. That will power up device regardless of a present battery or not.

You need to put the phone in AP Fastboot mode for it to show up in RSD. Power + Vol down.

You can cut the end off a usb cable, and connect red-black wire to battery to charge if phone is bricked.

Thought i read somewhere if you choose the BP option in recovery that it would also charge the battery

I got the dev cable in the mail today, but when I plug in the adapter into my computer I just keep getting the bootloop and can't get to Fastboot. =/
Also my computer tries to install an XT875 driver despite me having downloaded all the drivers off of MOTODEV.
My phone is still not popping up in RSDLite! My phone is displaying:
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected

Turns out I had to run RSD as an administrator.
What a headache.

I know this is an old post but for anyone that may read this. If you are impatient or cant wait for the shipping of a factory cable, I purchased an extended battery which normally comes 50%-75% battery life. This was enough battery to get my phone unbricked. Just a helpful hint for anyone that may stumble across it.

Interesting. I just suggested to another person on another forum to do exactly that b/c of the fact that it comes pre-charged....

At least now I can point to your post as proof in case anyone asks lol. Thanks!

they aren't fully charged so best to get the extended battery, which will give you a little over a normal battery charge.

The hardest part with that suggestion is where to find one. The only place I was able to find mine was at a battery store, phone retailers didn't carry them.

Not surprising. I purchased mine immediately when VZW put then on sale for $25 - bought, actually. I don't think they have them anymore....

Verizon, Best Buy, and Used cell store didn't have them here.
