Quantifying "fast"

What is a good benchmark app or program?

And what figures should we be most concerned with?

linpack / quadrant are the most common tools for benchmarking.

I don't see a point in those apps to be completely honest.

Stock phone with just bloat frozen I ran almost a 3k on Quadrant

I installed RazrX (.744 version) when it was released and went down to a 2.4k, but it felt 2x faster.

Antutu I've heard is better at benchmarking than Quadrant.

Without a doubt Cf bench pro. Support your devs and buy pro! I think its one of the most accurate ones out.

Great info everyone thanks. I'll gives them a try. Using the different ROMs I didn't notice differences and I was curious about what differences a program would show because I'm obviously not trained well enough. I can notice data speed differences but OS and graphics not so much.

Thanks again!

Benchmarking is pretty useless. It's not real world stuff and as already mention a custom ROM was lower than stock but ran better. Meh.

Moved on to the LG G2 on VZW and lovin it!

Beware of making decisions based on a benchmark. I am a numbers guy and like to run benchmarks just to see, but the fastest and smoothest rom doesn't always score the highest.
