hey guys......drama slowly winding down.....wife transferred from hospital to inpatient physical therapy yesterday! whole story is that it was acute respiratory distress syndrome precipitated by a rapidly developing case of pneumonia. 18 days in medically induced coma (full blown paralytic, to keep her from fighting with the respirator) 35 days total in hospital (28 in ICU)...trached (now closed), in the face down hammock bed thing for 7 days (more rapid air exchange, fluid drainage, etc...looked like she'd gone 15 rounds with Ali when they flipped her back over (supposedly everybody does, deep slow development bruises from weight being on cheekbones)....still a little bit of trouble with fine motor control (trembly fingers) and of course inability to walk etc due to atropy and loss of muscle tone, therapist said a week or 10 days max (she's got to make 3 laps through a 50' set of walking bars without grabbing them..

all the prayers, good thoughts, and positive energy were definitely felt and appreciated (especially you KOS)

so back to your regularly scheduled programming

Great news. Pneumonia is a pain in the arse and this case especially! Praying for a gradual but ever quicker recovery.

I'm so glad to hear she is on the mend, when you posted what she had I Googled it, and frankly have been terrified for the 2 of you. Especially when I didn't hear anything for quite some time.

Thank GOD she is healing.
