I travel to Sierra Leone every year and I found it much cheaper to buy a local phone/hotspot prepaid then to use my equipment/plan. Intl rates suck.Update..... I checked with Verizon.... they told me that since the XT912 is in fact a global phone, and with ALL global phones the transition to GSM should be automatic..... and there are per minute rates based on which country you are in (quite expensive IMO)........ also, they recommend using WIFI as opposed to using the mobile data as the rates are astronomical for out of country usage.... the average price for data is about $20 per megabyte.... that could lead to an extremely high bill.......

yeah i thought about that but.....since i will be in several different countries during that time, that may end up being more expensive in the long run..... i will probably get one when i get to japan... i will be spending a longer time there than anywhere else.... thanx
