I did the OTA rootkeeper and it all the boxes are checked, but any apps trying to gain root access fail.

Any thoughts or news on how to gain root on the stock OTA JB?

You can try that but I think if you didn't update the binary before updating to JB, I don't think it will work. As far as an root straight from JB there are none as of yet.

That will NOT work for the OG razr, or at least for me it didnt. However, somebody said they successfully went back to .211 using the utility. I was not successful with it though and had to do a FDR.

Are there any solutions for those who updated to jellybean and can't get root with this tool?

I just wiped my phone clean on JB doing a factory reset, then instantly used matts tool, and got root.

Really? I've tried that twice and couldn't get it to go through- was the Root full without errors?

Unrooting/rerooting using voodoo before/after updating to JB worked flawless for me, even was able to update the binary in superuser after rerooting. I'm curious why this method worked for me and many others while the rest can't get root access back. Intriguing to say the least.

I agree- I updated with the OTA Root Saver, and got through just fine, but there was an error and after regaining root, it blocked my Play Store and it wouldn't open. So I did a factory reset (I'd updated over top the ICS Stock). Play Store worked great, but the root was completely gone with no trace. Never heard of anything like that, but I'll try to re-root with MTP and another one by Dan Rosenburg

When I rerooted it didn't block anything including the Play store so now I'm more curious what caused problems for others when I didn't even hit a snag on my Maxx

You might be stuck with us waiting for a true root exploit for this.

I THINK Matt's file only works if you did restore root but had old binaries.

Any news on when a true root exploit might be available?
