It would also be great if some of the more experienced could drop in and share some knowledge.
I am currently running DroidTh3ory's Abysm 1.1 rom with the 1% battery add on.
Here are a few screenshots of stuff I have changed. It is all very basic stuff, but that is the point of this thread. Let's help each other learn to do the harder stuff.

I don't go to any site, not sure how you would do that.Being as you said to help out others and sharing...where are you going to do your theme work? What site and tools?
Very nice images too.
So far I am only editing png files.
Here is my process..
1)Download rom of choice
2)Open with 7zip (Do not extract)
3)Go to system/app/whatever app you want to edit
4)Pull out the png files to change
5)Open png files with Photoshop
6)edit files (change color, replace icons, etc)
7)Save as same name to folder
8)Drag and drop back in same place in 7zip
That is the process for changing pngs in an app like BlurDialer, BlurPhone, Gmail, etc. I then use my file manager on the phone to paste the changed apps into the /system directory. Change the permissions to match the others, and reboot. When the phone comes back up you should see the changes.
I have also changed a few small things in the framework-res.apk, like the lockscreen. The process is the same here, except when I am done, I put the framework-res.apk back into one of the addons for the rom I'm uising. Then just wipe dalvik/cache and install zip in Clockworkmod Recovery.
Hope this all makes sense.

Ok, I have one. In the recent calls list in the Dialer there is a little green phone icon on the right of the screen that you hit to call people on that list. Where is that png at? I can't find it and it is driving me crazy!I will be paying close attention to this thread....feel free to ask me any questions!
Thanks for checking in btw. You are one of the people I was hoping would be in here.

This works for the basic images...the only problem is your going to run into lots of trouble. You really need to be decompiling and re-compiling each images.

So, on similar images, I have to go down to pixel level to change the colors? Then the image will be the color of my choice? Sort of like a color fill?If i understand right, a png doesnt have to be exactly the same size. But you really want to keep it close. On that exact image make sure it fits 66x66 pixel box
