I went ahead and cleared data before downgrading, and the error persisted. After I downgraded, I took the update back to the latest off the market, and now the error is gone.

Must have been some ghost in the machine...

I assume that this has to be installed from stock with all bloat intact. With root keeper. Or can I flash this over Abysm 1.1?

Correct. The bloat can be frozen, but it must be there. It does the standard Moto bloat check for an OTA.

Same issue here(non-rooted) so I uninstalled and updated smart actions from market and all is well.

Thanks Matt! I'm a n00b Razr owner who accepted the OTA update this morning without thinking. Lost root. Fastbooted back, rooted, Voodoo'd, then re-fastbooted to new release. Voodoo took care of the rest.

So want to confirm that I can install the .175 update directly over my abysm .748 install without needing to wipe data and cache - or will this .175 update bring me back to stock moto install? thanks!

I think it is safe to say you should follow the recommended upgrade paths. I'm not sure how what you are running is different from stock, out what would happen. I do know if you go from stock .748 to. 173 to .174, that you do not need to wipe memory.

thanks pm - I haven't seen an upgrade path in this thread which is why I asked; all i saw was "Flash these using the stock Motorola Recovery" but it doesn't say if I must flash over a stock rom or if I can flash over a rooted rom such as abysm. Do I need to rsd back to stock .748 and then flash .173? I don't plan on installing .174 since it was pulled from this thread for not being an official release. And my main reason for flashing this .173 is so that I can flash the latest ic3razr ICS which requires .173. Thanks all!

based on my experience with the .173 OTA update several people have suggested i unofrunately got a corrupt download. Is it safe to re-install the update with the links you provided? I am rooted at the moment but nothing has been removed or frozen. I just did the SQLite editor entitelment Hot Spot change.

I used to falsh roms on my old Droid 1 going into SPRecovery and installing the update.zip Do i need to change it to update.zip here as well? Will it remove root?

Edit: Actually i have removed some bloat but they are the apps that you can remove with out root like the golf game and madden.

not sure if this is the rite place to post this but ohh well.i been looking for the fasboot files to 744.everytime i fastboot back to 744 and once everything is done for me to set up my phone i get a bunch of force closes i'm not able to get pass the touch android screen.i done everything rite and nothing happening can someone pls tell me wat i'm doing wrong

I have been looking all over this site and the only zip that seems to be missing is the upgrade from 173 to 181. When i get home i will do a google search but wanted to see if anyone knows of a link in these forums that i am just over looking.
