I'm currently on Nitro's most excellent Eclipse 1.3… if I ever want to change back to Stock 173 i.e. to get ICS when vzw decides to finally 'endow' us with that version of the OS… which is gonna be late b/c the rumors for Jello (?) have already surfaced…
I would just run 1wipe1Rulethemall (I'm a fan of Tolkien as well) from CWM recovery & when that's done flash the Stock 173 w/4ever Root fm that zipfile & I'll be ready to get ICS ?
TIA, seeker

Or in other words, does 173SOA_4eveRoot behave / function / have the same results as flashing a ROM, at least enough so that I don't wind up w/a brick if I flash that after using 1wipe2rule?
Thanks in advance, seeker

I always flash my wipe before flashing full roms. You can tooOK, SLSK, but can I use 1wipe2rule as a prep for going back to stock via 173SOA_4everRoot?

please clarify, I want to follow your lead on always wiping - & since I take your advice about having to flash a ROM after wiping w/1wipe2rule, my question is : are there any issues w/flashing 173SOA_4eveRoot.zip, (to take me back to stock), constitute flashing a ROM?
Don't want to wind up w/a brick, but if it is OK to flash that zip - which brings you back to stock, then I can do it all fm my device & that rocks totally! (keep up the good work)
thanks much in advance, seeker

(ok bad joke I know. )
And on to an actual question: Do I need to flash this (wipe everything) before doing an AP Fastboot .173 (option #1 in Matt's utility)?

This wipe rules the mall? Is there a medical plan?
You don't need to do anything before fastbooting besides making sure your phone has around 70% battery life or MORE.Why would I want to rule the mall?

Flashing this won't hurt anything, but it certainly won't help either.

Can someone make a lite version that only wipes cache and dalvik? It would be very useful for rom upgrades and themes
Here ya go.

Flash this like a .zip and it will function as if you were doing:Should save people a lot of time hopefully, just be careful because if you flash this and not a Rom afterwards, there will be no system to boot into.
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Format /system
If you flash this before a Rom you do not have to wipe anything manually!
