Did this yesterday. Works great! I just recorded 1080p for about 15 minutes and now I have 5gb!
Enjoy!

I upgraded my account using this beta release and it uploaded around 15 photos. DIdn't think about creating a quick video to fill the space. According to Dropbox's blog, the new space is permanent (even if you erase the files later).

It has to auto upload. Take some 1080P videos from your camera and make sure auto sync is on in dropbo.

Well, for some reason, it's not working for me. I ran the beta, it uploaded my camera roll, no increase in size. Then I took benefit4snake's advise, and shot a video and uploaded, but still no change in my account. Oh well, was worth the shot. Still a pretty sweet feature.

Keep going..remember you have to upload 500mb first before you see the space.

I sat my phone down recorded video ( nothing but table top) for 30 min. uploaded and repeated until all 5 gb was received.

I'm beginning to think that the offer is over because it won't sync anything, even photos anymore, it says I'm out of space.

Thanks for the suggestion mopar57...you were right...the files weren't large enough. So I recorded 5 - 6 minutes at 1080p and let it update. After 4 files, I am now up to 6.22GB and now apparently at max for upload. Thanks again for the suggestion.
