Yup... The android news sites had this sometime in the last few days. Great time to pick up a great phone.

What is the difference between buying this on amazon vs buying in an official vzw store?

I believe (correct me if im wrong) there are extra early termination fees to them if you cancel your contract early.

So you still deal directly with VZW for customer support?

I have purchased several phones from Amazon. Any issues and I just call VZW at *611 and they take care of it. The only real difference buying from Amazon is that you pay substantially less for the phone

Yup still deal with vzw. Had my sons maxx replaced straight from vzw and I got his original from Amazon.

Are you paying substantially less "retail" price, or substantially less with a package? I do not want to lose my unlimited data so I buy full retail, which i hate.

Only difference is there's an extra cancellation fee of either 100 or 200 of you cancel contract within first 6 months. I ordered my thunderbolt through them as a new customer and went very smooth.
