Fixes the issues you had. Lol.

Before you make the backup. Then when you wipe out everything to restore it its clean and won't boot loop you. :)

Ok so just go into Recovery (Power + vol up/down) and wipe cache?
What about when I want to make a backup of how my phone is at that point in time, something to roll back to? You still have to wipe everything?

Still a n00b at this :(

It's a little early for ROMs. Give the developers a few more months. Also, there's always a way to recover your phone. Try this:

Time for Moto to update the line!

Honestly, Matt's tool is much more robust than the straight RSD method. I'd show preference to that link instead :

... that is unless you're trying to post links to the unlockr under the radar ;)

There are just better recovery options out there. And better resources here. Its an additional risk to escalate recovery directly to RSD since s failure in the process can leave you without a contingency recovery method. Its always best practice to encourage users to use internal resources and tools that way we can help them if they run into issues. Our support here really is unparalleled.

That being said, OP use the link to Matt's utility and download the full version. It is fairly straightforward and combines several recovery measures in one tool

Ya, I probably posted this on about three different threads. That's three threads too many, but it kept fitting and it worked for me. I tried Matt's tool. That's what broke my phone to begin with, or at least it was a different version of his tool. I was stuck in a fastboot loop after using his tool. The only thing that worked for me was the RSD. I know that people hate it, but the RSD fixed my problem.

You can select either bootstrap or safestrap. I use safestrap now, but I had used bootstrap exclusively until I started testing ICS.

ok heres my problem. I used droid razr utility 1.7 to restore my Razr back to .211 ICS. Everything went fine, but when i reboot the phone the first time i get the droid guy with a nuclear like symbol in his chest ( i know its not really a nuclear symbol, but its like an atom or something .) then it tries to reboot again and all i get is the motorola red circle symbol, then the screen goes black and it will not go any further. Im assuming when i restored it the root was lost so if I need to take it back to verizon i will, ive had the phone for about 4 months...but if i dont have to i dont want to, any suggestions?

Hop in chat and they'll get you set. Did you have the 211 on your SD card when using the 1.7?
