I just got my new droid RAZR Max HD. I have been trying to root and upgrade to jb. I can't figure out how to do it. Can you tell I'm a noob....lol please help!

I just bought my Razr HD a couple of days ago, and spent a lot of time searching and reading to figure this out also. If you haven't already, do NOT take the JB update yet, it will make it much easier. See the following threads for the required tools, depending on your PC's OS:

If you haven't already updated to JB, then skip the first step (flash back to ICS stock), as you are already there and don't need to do it. I am running Arch Linux 64 and had no problems! Very impressed with the work being done on this site. If you have any questions or trouble, the devs here are very helpful. Good luck!
