Pull the battery and then let it reboot and see if it works.

Did you try getting a hold of an older version of AOKP and seeing if it is version specific?

well i have had this happen on a couple different roms (elipse, team haters, blurrymaxx) and now this and it always with the phone being really laggy and and then freezing and then all i can access is the power menu to reboot and then thats it doesnt work after such plus and my user preferences are gone as well (lockscreen is gone, unknown apps installed was unchecked, all my gui was back to "stock AOKP look") so ueah the only way i have ended up fixing this is wiping everuthing and starting from scratch

Then it is not a ROM specific thing at all - this has obviously happened to you before.

I'd start looking at the apps you have installed and figuring out why the phone is getting laggy in the first place. That is by far not normal behavior, and since it keeps happening to you I'd look at the apps first.

i have looked through all my apps and they are only support apps or a few games

Has to be something. If this keeps happening repeatedly something somewhere is on the blink - even if it is your internal storage.

Not sure what exactly is going on. But if it keeps happening across different ROMs, then it's either hardware or software. And if it is hardware then a reset should not fix it, so I'm inclined to think software

im going to wipe the whole rom slot and not ise any backups or any thing and rebuild the rom and see what happenes
Edit: i redid the my home button works now i will let you know if it breaks again

Weird. FWIW, though, on my OG Droid, I'm running Altonus ICS. The home button works when it first boots up and takes me to the activation wizard screen - after that my home button does not work.

I wonder if it is because of files that are being yanked to make these ROMs smaller?
