247 IS NOT THE OTA!anyone know where i can find the .247 ota file for my bionic ?

go there! and read! don't ask any questions until you have read all the info!
if you have read it all, you likely won't have questions!
Why may i ask do you want the ICS ota file? if you are still on GB, you should be able to just take the ota...

You will be hard pressed to find it since theres no need for it. 246 and 247 are the same.

And you didn't bother to explain to him how to install it. Or that you need to be on 905 to do so. Or that trying to revert to 905 from 6.7.235 or higher will brick their phone. Nice.... Really nice.

I honestly didn't see a need for it. Dude asked for the file. He even specifically said so:
He's already been warned about .246 being the OTA, and he's already stated that he *is* on the OTA. So, I provided the file requested.
End of story. I'm not gonna baby someone every single time a file request is made. If they have issues, they can come back and ask.

Yea.....it's that last part that bothers me. They DO come back and ask. Once they f up their phone, they "ask" with multiple posts, pm's, and OMGZ PONIES I need my phone like yesterday and now it's bricked! I've been through all that. Have no desire to relive it. If they want 247, that's fine. If we don't to give the warnings about what to do with it, also fine. But they should be warned not to contact me if they f it up.....cause I'm not going to be very receptive to it.

I'm talking one person. I can handle one person coming back and screaming - or even a dozen.
It's one thing to anticipate luser errors and ID 10 T errors in software that is run on their end - it's quite another to try to anticipate all of those questions when all you've done is fulfill a request for a single file.
The Puppy thing I'm working on - yeah, that will need documentation and such and hand holding - this situation does not.
I'm talking one person. I can handle one person coming back and screaming - or even a dozen.

I'm curious why anyone would keep any remnants of an un-used file...
Especially when the prior version is the same thing.
I just don't get it. lol I see both sides tho. I mean if he wants it, his problem.
But as Sam said, this stuff usually ends up with the OP and others who bumbled into this going "OMG I can't get the OTA and I'm on the newest version" and then debating how JB should install over 247, and 247 has to be the OTA cuz it's the highest number. And then the people who only got half the memo coming in going "Only 247 has jb patch! STFU noobs!". And then a random post asking if he can run a debloated version of this "rom" on his XT912
