In case you weren’t familiar, the Nexus 4 smartphone arrived with full wireless charging capabilities— but unfortunately, there weren't very many options to utilize and take advantage of the awesome feature… until now. Google has (finally) broken down and listed its wireless charging orb as available on the Play Store for a fairly modest $59.99 listing price. The neat thing is that the device is fairly small— coming in at a mere 130 grams, so the device is fairly small in size and won’t need to take up too much space. So for all of you lucky Nexus 4 owners, go take a look at this awesome addition to your device.

Love my wireless nokia charger for my DNA. Wireless charging rules. Not as fast as wired charging but it sits on my desk at work and I can always just throw it on there when I am at my desk. I assume this will make it's way into all newer high end phones.

I like the wireless charging also. I wonder how well this will work with the DNA. I know they both have magnet and coils in the phone, but the question is will it all line up right on the DNA for that nice viewing angle? I may just have to blow $60 and see. Like Memnoch73 said its nice being able to just lay it on the desk and not have to worry about plugging in/unplugging the phone. But that angle appeals to me.

I havent looked at it really, but it would be nice if it had a divit on the side also, so you could have it charge/panned in landscape mode also, for video or whatnot.

So my question.. Does anyone know if this will/will not work with the DNA?

Thanks
And thanks tmyinc for this post.

I wonder if the old Palm Pre Touchstones will work with the Nexus 4, those can be purchased for almost nothing nowadays.

It came up in my searches. Some say its compatible but I'm a little iffy. Let me do some checking on that.

The wireless for the DNA and I believe the N4 is all the Qi standard. So any charger with the Qi standard should be compatible no matter the brand. I am curious to how the N4 sits up off the ground on this. Is there some kind of metal magnet thing? If so this orb may only work with the N4

Here is a link with a little more info. Also states it can be used with HTC phones and such with wireless charging capabilities.
