I've got some good news guys. I told you I'd let you know as soon as something became actually available and today seems to be that day. Well technically, April 30th is the day but close enough.

Cellphone repair shop has an OG Razr to Maxx conversion kit that they are taking preorders on that they expect to ship April 30th. The kit comes with everything necessary including:

The kit is shipped directly to you with a price tag of $ 109.95 and gives you the ability to also pick up a pry tool and the correct size torx screwdriver, which I highly recommend you grab if you do not have them already.

Truly a happy day for all of us who foolishly trusted Motorola and bought our Razrs when they came out.

I'm going to post details on exactly how the group buy is going to work now, so everyone knows what the deal is ahead of time. Once I get a pricing structure from them I will post it and keep a running list of who's interested, and hopefully we can get enough people to hit their steepest discount. Once we figure that out I will start taking orders, the money will need to be sent to my PayPal account IN FULL; including any taxes and shipping. I have done many a group buy for coral and livestock back in the day, and this is the only/best way to exclude the people that will flake out and leave me holding the bag, and out money. Once I have everyone's money I will place the order and get the units on their way to you guys, assuming they will do that. There is a slim chance that they will insist that all the packages are sent to me, in which case I will send them out as soon as I receive them.

That's almost exactly the price difference between the Razr and the Maxx, especially if we get enough members to get a steep discount.

I almost might have to preorder it, but maybe I'll wait to see what kind of discount Techno comes up with... either way I WILL have one of these as soon as they're available :-) I've been checking their website every morning when I wake up and I'm glad Techno found this.

The reason I closed the other thread is observable in this one. I was gauging interest in the other one but specified not to post if one wasn't positive they would want in on the buy no matter what. That was too complicated as every other post was "I'm in, but only if X" and "I'll buy one if X but not Y, and how about Z?"

Once I get a discount structure I'll post details on the group buy.

if you buy the kit from their website, you dont need the pry tool, i just opened it up with short fingernails

Also skip the screwdriver, thats way to much when you can get a Whole Set from Home Depot way cheaper than the price of one on their website

Definitely. The cost of this is like the difference of retail Razr vs Razr Maxx anyway. It's a good option for those who bought their Razrs prior to the release of the Maxx.

Definitely interested in the reduced priced bulk buy. I do like the thin body of my Razr now, and i don't really have battery life issues as I almost always have a charger around... but the MAXX battery is NICE.

Yeah, and the reason people like myself had conditions on their interest is because you had NO details in that thread. You cannot just expect people to blindly say "I'm in" and only that without any sort of date or price.
Then you throw a tantrum, and lock the thread because of it. For that reason, I won't be sending you my $.
Just my .02.
However, thank you for the source of the parts. I will be buying a set when they are available.
