Did the previous kernels work?

Yes, the first kernel you posted worked. It's only R5 that does not work for me.

I was able to boot with R3, but had issues running at 1200MHz so I turned it down to 1008 and it was running fine. I've been running straight CM10.1 with no problems but I wanted to try out some of the changes you've made. For some of us the max CPU remained at 1000MHz. I've been able to overclock on ICS and on CM10.1 using init.d CPU scripts for the ICS kernel but of course they don't work using the JB kernels. I know my phone is stable at 1200, so some combo of the ROM/Kernel is not playing nicely on my phone.

My tester last night was on Pacman, it really shouldn't matter that your guys' CPU didn't get kicked up. Are all of you on CM?

OK, I was able to boot into 4/30 nightly with the R5 kernel. I was on 4/29 with the stock kernel, and I updated to 4/30 and let it boot up with the stock kernel. I then added the R3 kernel, let it boot up and then loaded the R5 kernel. The first time it loaded up it was re-optimizing apps and stopped at the Starting Apps screen. It rebooted and then it was fine. Seems to be working now.

A couple questions for you, the only governors I see are interactive, ondemand, userspace, hotplug, and performance. Are there supposed to be others in the R5 kernel? Also, the available frequencies I have are 100, 200, 300, etc... all the way to 1000. I thought this was supposed to be over-cloackable to 1400? My max cpu frequency is 1000mhz. Any ideas?

Update: It does seem to reboot randomly. I'm guessing this is because the lowest frequency is 100mhz. The stock low frequency is 300mhz.

Update:

Installed 4/30 CM10.1, cleared cache and Dalvik, and let boot. Once it booted I rebooted and installed R5. Rebooted and during the CM boot logo it rebooted.

2nd reboot it loaded past the KEXEC step and stopped with some thin vertical lines on the left 1/4 of the screen.

3rd reboot... CM boot logo... Android is upgrading... Optimizing apps... Starting apps... and frozen, reboot.

4th reboot... CM boot logo... crash! Reboot.

Reboot to SS, install Code_Kernel_Targa, Reboot. Android is upgrading... Optimizing apps... Starting apps... Booted! It took forever to come up but it's now running. The original version you posted on 4/30 CM 10.1.

I can change the minimum CPU in the ROM and in ROM toolbox Pro, but it doesn't stick. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I cannot get the minimum frequency to stick either using the trickster mod app referenced in the OP. Reverting back to stock kernel for 4/30 nightly.

dont think r5 works. got random reboot while trying to change frequencies and stuff

Update: rebooted and started working but when i change min freq to 300 it stays at 100. also max only goes up to 1000. and no new governors, just schedulers.

And then a miracle happened...

Frustrated with CM10.1 this morning and GPS not working on 05/02, no sound on 05/03 so I installed the latest version of the Kernel again and let the phone sit for a while and reboot. Lo and behold, it fully booted and once it did I can OC to 1200MHz!  None of the other governors are installed, but OC  is good. Min CPU Freq cannot be changed, though. It doesn't stick. Looks like there is an OC thread for the stock ROM, and I'm going to try and install the governors from there when I update CM10.1 again.

It's a bit complicated for a begginer. Look up how to compile the Android kernel.

Probably not. Not worth the effort to do it for an OMAP where not too many people use it and I'd have to do a good amount of work just to get it up to date with upstream CM kernel.
