Has anyone addressed the 9.20.1 update that was pushed to other devices?
The prevailing theory is that 9.20.1 was pushed to dev phones based on the iemi. THEORY.

If you look through the strings in the binaries in 9.18.79, there are places where it checks addresses to confirm development phone vs retail. So I don't think that's the case. The updater script also appears to check for several fingerprints. The prevailing theory is that 9.20.1 was pushed to dev phones based on the iemi. THEORY.

As I said, it was a theory that someone had. I really need to rip open the update and take a look at a few things. I've not yet had a chance.

You can't FXZ (fastboot) back easily after taking this update. The TZ partition has been updated and if you try to flash it with an older version, *EVEN WITH AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER*, it will brick and throw you into a nasty little AP Fastboot error. At that point you just need to flash something, anything, to get rid of it. But then I have no idea what state your phone will be in. If you want to FXZ back, remove the two TZ flashing lines from the FXZ xml.

Was wondering, the new baseband did not flash for me for some reason, probably where it failed, how exactly are you guys getting this to install properly, keep in mind I do not have an sdcard in this phone so I cant use stock recovery.

Fail. You can't install this update any other way.

You don't need a big one. Even a 1 or 2 gig card will suffice.

I splurged and got a class 10 32gb, that worked, still failed at the end but it flashed everything Haven't used stock recovery in so long I kind of forgot it was useful for anything. :

LOL. When you say failed at the end, I'm guessing you got the same error that a lot of us unlocked users got which is an assertion failed on motorola.backup_bl_xxx() (I forget what the xxx is off the top of my head but it's earlier on in this thread). If that's the case you're good to go.

Stupid question time. Does anyone (cough cough Hash?) have a list of all the partitions on the HD and what the hell they are? Coming from the OMAP world this Snapdragon stuff still eludes me.
didnt read ll the posts yet to see if it was already posted. Matt has it on batakang:
