Hello,

I just joined this group and have a XT926 Razr Maxx HD

I believe it was at 4.4.2 as I have a screen shot dated 3/3/15 and was stock, not rooted.

It is stuck at the android robot logo. That happened after it froze while unattendend. A restart resulted in this situation.

I have gotten into the bios and cleared cache to no avail. And then erased everything, still to no avail.

What are the steps to restore it to 4.4.2 or better. At this point, out of warranty and contract, I am OK with rooting as well. But I would like to get it running ASAP as this is my main internet access by hotspot.

Thanks

The next thing to try is to flash all the way back to stock.  If the partition data is corrupt this can straighten it out as long as it is not caused by a hardware failure in the flash memory.  If it won't flash using this proceedure then it is likely a hardware failure which seems like is getting more common. Be sure to read this thread carefully and follow the instructions to the letter.

Unless you plan on unlocking your phone you can not use a custom recovery.  If you was running the latest firmware 182/183.46.15 or 15.1 it is a moot point since that version of the firmware is unlockable.

Yes, it is 182.46.15.XT926.Verizon.en.US

So moot then I guess....

In process of downloading the rest.

Hope to get to the process later today.

Thanks

Hi again.

I'd like to report I have success!!!

The phone is restoring apps and such, and while that is going on, I am using it as a hotspot! This is my primary internet at home.

So thanks much! This site is a absolute godsend, as I got nowhere at verizon or motorola.
