Hi all,

I am trying to recover some images on a droid HD that is stuck at the "red eye" I have tried to use the #2 option in the Droid Utility by mattlgroff, but I don't think it is working because my bootloader is locked. Obviously, I have no access to the android system, so I cannot install motopocalypse or turn on debugging mode, etc. Also, the device is not fully recognized in adb.

Can anyone offer some suggestions or a walkthrough on how to unlock the bootloader, etc.?

Thanks!!!

Read and follow the instructions in this thread. If you know what the firmware version you were running it will speed up the progress. With a locked bootloader you can only flash the same version or newer to the phone. Most of the firmware sites have disappeared over the last couple years. Try this link and download the .10.1 and the .15.1 firmware  .10 can be rooted and unlocked the .15 can be rooted and unlocked only with software from jcase called sunshine for 25 dollars.

Use house of moto to flash the firmware it will make things easier for you once you have it set up. Follow the instructions exactly otherwise you will run into trouble.
