So I remember about 4 or 5 months ago when people thought they found a true Razr to Razr Maxx conversion kit. Does anybody know of any type conversion that actually works? I understand it probably would void the warranty but I'm pretty sure that's already happened. So does anyone know of any type of conversion that actually can lengthen my battery to days worth, as my contract isn't up until July or August and I thought it'd be cool to try out. Also I understand there is some out there, but I am looking for one that is the easiest to put together and doesn't require excess parts.

I slapped a maxx battery on an OG. Put the backing on as much as I could, then slapped a case on it. Can't even tell the difference and the case perfectly holds the rest of the phone together. I'll upload pics when I get home. When I look in the "about phone screen" I get to see "RAZR MAXX." :)

Does the case stick out at all or is it just minimal?

It's not sticking out at all. Waiting on my Gnex to charge so I can take pics.

hey there Matt, logged in real quick to respond to ya cuz it seems like you're doing some interesting work with a seemingly mundane query.

Coming from an averagely articulated razr user, the white light comes on for me during these scenarios; If my phone is dead and needs to be plugged into the wall to charge, as opposed to getting a charge VIA m-usb ->usb pc cable, the phone lets you know this by flashing its led light white. Or maybe it is one constant light. But for me this white light at that moment is telling me; "the PC cable is not sufficient to charge your phone from 0% atm, so use your wall chord to get some power."

That may be just one incident where it utilizes the white. But again, a flashing light might mean something from a troubleshooting standpoint the light being constant.

any other times i'm pretty sure were during incidents much like my first example (not enough power to boot or initiate/sustain a productive charge) hope that helps Matt!

btw @OP; intereting topic

Thanks when I got it yesterday I would plug it in and the white led would flash and go off
So I left it plugged in and then tried power+ volume down and it finally came on

Do I have to start flashing roms that are for the DROID RAZR maxx? Or the OG RAZR?

You can flash any of them.  OG is the same as the Razr Maxx.  Battery is the only difference.

Could I unlock it then? I remember seeing a while ago that you could unlock the bootloader for the maxx.

The unlock was on the HD/M. It's dead now too..
