So to use this we simply flash the update.zip in safestrap and then use script manager (or a script placed in init.d for settings on boot) to load the kernel modules and set the frequencies/voltages using a script similar to the one you posted above, right?

That'll do it

First day using the modules on cm10.1 with the pegasusq gov and sio scheduler I get no deep sleep.

Did you have wifi on when you used pegasusq? Using the CM10.1 pegasus1 I never got deep sleep, it turns out that my wifi was set to always on, I changed that to "only when charging" and it went into deep sleep.

I'm not sure if I did or not but I restarted and cleared cache from recovery and it seems fine now.

If you are on Jellybean (not CM10.1) you can use the aviator utility in the aviator ROM. The overclocking will work with any .16 ROM that has init.d support. Just install the modules and follow the instructions :)

so if i install the aviator rom and install the modules, will those be available when i switch back to CM10? just trying to get a better understanding of how it all works.

No. I don't know a whole lot about CM though. If it has the same folder directory as stock then it might work. All the utility does is push the files to the correct location.

OK well I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks.

Nope, each slot in ss has its own system folder. None of that is shared.

When you switch 'slots' in SafeStrap you will change which System and Data folders the device is using. i.e. If you install them in Slot 1, they are only in Slot 1.

that was about overclocking the JB leak. The instructions for using script manager and SetCPU will be the same for the JB OTA/custom rom based on 98.72.16. You should make sure that you are running the proper kernel for this module pack though, some CM roms use Kexec to install a new kernel 3.0.31, while the 98.72.16 leak uses kernel version 3.0.8 which is what this module pack is for. You can check your kernel version in the about phone section of the settings menu. Someone posted a version of the modules for 3.0.31 at xda if you are running the newer kernel. In the end you need 3 things: the overclocking modules, a script to load the modules and set the cpu frequency slots (you can use script manager and/or a script in init.d for this), and a program like SetCPU to manage the available frequencies and governors once installed and set up.

Cool thanks. After fiddling around most of the night I finally got it to work. Stoked!! Thanks for all the help :D

I have tried repeatedly to OC my Razr, but I cannot get it to work.  Is there a ROM someone recommends that has worked for you.  I have tried a lot of good ROMs and the ROM did everything the developers said it would.  But I want to get some more performance out of the RAZR and possibly keep it longer instead of upgrading.  I have gotten the RAZR to OC at 1300, but it wasn’t stable.  The phone would randomly reboot or freeze.

I am about to try LiquidSmooth.  Once it is loaded I will try adding the JBX OCE kernel.  I have tried Aviator Blur and JellyWiz roms.  Before that I was stock and rooted.  I always start with a clean install. Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, Data and then Install.

Is there anyway to tell if I have one of the early version RAZRs that may not OC?  I have tried the instructions for OCing from  UPower69 & East2West with no success.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

**EDIT**
Overclocked to 1300 using Rage Rom. Thanks to BigDaddyHicks, jl90, UPower69 for all their work.
