Most of the patches don't have anything to do with the fixes Motorola mentioned.

Ok, so it seems to have some BS updates to some system apps, a new kernel, an updated radio and a new bootloader (err and new stock recovery if you care). Word down the grapevine is that there is no patches to the exploits. (DO NOT READ AS: FLASH WILLY NILLY) I am not sure what version the kernel is at this juncture as it's only a patch, as is the build.prop. Either way, if anyone MUST have this update. Wait till we get the appropriate fastboot files, and we can package up a nice little system, boot and radio pack that you can flash and call it a day.

In another thread, can't find it right now but someone with either and HD or and M took an OTA with an unlocked bootloader. Gave him bootloops. Luckily he had a back-up to restore. Just FYI. As Tucs said wait for fastboot files..

MMMMMKAY.

I know this is new territory for Motorola users who have been lifetime Motorola users... Where you just take 'official' OTA's willy nilly because the WORST thing that could happen is that you could derp up protecting root and the pray for a Superman like Djrbliss to come bail you out. But to those of us who have had unlocked bootloaders via either exploit or leaked bootloader, we are accustomed to NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER taking an OTA. Because we know the OEM's are just as ahead of the game as we are. And every time they patch our exploit, it becomes harder to crack. Unlearn ALL the crap you ever knew about Motorola and how to deal with updates. It's a NEW WORLD. (If you care about having freedom over your device and being unlocked that is).

Now, everyone repeat after me, this should be EVERY Motorola User's montra. You should say this 3 times in the morning, 3 times at lunch and 3 times before bed time. NEVER, EVER, EVER TAKE AN OTA! Actually, get off the official ROM now and WAIT for your developers to give you updates (even stock ones!) They will be built with you in mind. Contrary to Motorola/Verizon who only care about "security"(LOL) and BLOATWARE ($$$).

Henceforth OTA shall be spelled OTA. It's a bad word now. The WORST acronym KNOWN TO MAN. Please! People...for your own good. Thank you!  :)

I'd assume it either blocks the exploits or reverts them. Been trying to explain on XDA that any new OTA or new leaked fastboot should never be applied now, especially when using RSD. Moto has a habit of releasing fixes that only fix the holes...BL7 Defys anyone? Some understsnd, some don't. Sadly, I expect a fully unlocked noob to take the OTA and we'll find out that way. No matter how many warnings we give, ya can't fix stupid.

You called it.

Well it didn't revert my unlocked boot loader I was able to keep root by voodoo. I installed the upgrade with no problem at all. My post count is low but I'm not a noob I started out on my droid x and then the original RAZR now the RAZR M.

The concern is updating to this version without being unlocked, and then not being able to.

Then you're a device daredevil. I wasn't willing to risk it. Thanks for letting us know Knievel.  :D

havent noticed any noticable improvements but i doubt it blocks the bootloader unlock as it has a build date of march 22 but it is possible. as far as being a daredevil i don't consider that i just like playing.if it messed it up i got backup devices to go back to.
