Any updates on the custom kernel, how is the testing coming along?? I know it may take a while to work out all the problems before release. CodeKernal has been running well so far.

May I ask how the progression goes? This is a rather massive undertaking to do. But I would like to hear how if at all I can assist you.

All of the work on this kernel requires very low level debugging. Look at the boot log. He had 1 CPU boot, and the phone recognized some of its other low level hardware components. Long way to go.

No work has been made on this since the last time Hash updated his OP. There have been no changes as he's been working on the Kindle Fire.

This is not hard to tell. Instead of asking the progress just look at the PUBLIC repo with all of the changes in it. If you want to help hook your phone up to sparkfun and fix the code. It goes over my head. It goes over dhackers head. You have to be a professional coder(or really really really persistent and experienced + smart) like Hashcode to help in this project as of yet(Look at the repo, only jonpry and Hash have contributed).

Sorry if I offended anybody... But seriously its right there. Spend 5 minutes and learn what the status of this kernel is lol

Will this make the battery life on my original droid last 3 days? lmfao cant wait till it's complete! I heard its going to finally enable xray vision through the camera so I can see naked people. AND it turns it into a transformable toaster so I can slam a slice of bread in my phone in the morning and have toast on the go! can't wait!

Personally, I'd rather have it make me a cup of coffee.

So is Hashcode the only person working on a proper 4.2.2 kernel?

Moved from ROM section to Development section, as that is where kernels belong.

Updated Post #2 with a new bootlog.

I'm getting to the TWRP screen for a few seconds now, before it crashes out.  I can play w/ touchscreen, but I don't have USB up yet.

Lines of note in the log:

SMD driver noting lack of allocation table

<3>[    0.601617,1] smd_channel_probe_worker: allocation table not initialized

Backlight needs work

Not sure what this is

Checking this

<3>[    1.055608,0] wcd9xxx_slim_probe: failed to get slimbus tabla-slim logical address: -6

This SPI error happens on other 3.4 kernels I've seen.  I think there's a patch for it

<6>[    1.126659,1] spi_qsd spi_qsd.0: master is unqueued, this is deprecated

USB probe fail

<3>[    1.165847,1] msm_hsusb msm_hsusb: udc_probe failed

and then the Android gadget fail after that

Seeing some i2c errors for the gsbi4 device:

<4>[    1.475263,0] qup_i2c qup_i2c.4: Bus still busy, status 132100

Sensor fail

Missing GPIO setup for headset detect

<3>[    2.632260,1] msm8960_configure_headset_mic_gpios: US_EURO_, AV_SWITCH gpios not configured!!!

Bunch of failed audio init messages (I can't remember if I merged in audio changes)

<6>[    2.632351,1] msm_audio_init: Not APQ8064 in SLIMBUS mode
