If this kernal is ever fully finished and we can get pure aosp based roms fully functional on our hds without all the current bugs...yes then id admit i do

Haha although dhack has been back porting so much that I think eventually the 3.0.8 kernel will just be the 3.4 kernel haha

Hash, don't you have a donation account set up? If you do, I can't seem to locate it.

Cannot thank you enough Hashcode for all the amazing work you've done for us Motorola users!
Will the release of 4.3.x affect your work with this kernel? That is, would a stable release of this kernel play nice with the 4.3.x ROMs that'll inevitably come down the pipeline? Or would another kernel need to be built from the ground up a second time?

Soooo, we got CM approved correct? Does that mean this kernel is good to go?

Those two things are unrelated.

Really? I thought that the reason for this Kernel development was so that it would be easier and more compatible to run Android 4.2 and 4.3  (CM builds included) on the Droid Razr HD (XT926)

but this kernel is not required for the RAZR HD to be an official cm device. Most bugs have been worked out and dhacker, epinter, hashcode, skrilax, etc got the code organized in the proper ways so that cm would build from it officially.

They backported a lot of stuff into the existing kernel.  The requirement to become an official CM build is that everything works.  And it has for quite a while now.

so with everything worked out, will the 3.4 kernel still be necessary for our phones?

It will be better going forward. But it's not strictly necessary since most things were back ported. The important thing is whether or not all functionality is working... And it is. The new kernel will probably bring performance enhancements when it's done.

Is this speaking strictly of CM10.x builds?  Because I'm on PAC ROM and there are a few things that still don't function properly (Bluetooth, for example)

I'm referring to the CM builds yes.  I know that Hashcode and Dhacker have put a lot of effort into the kernel code for the CM builds.  I can't speak to other roms.

If they've uploaded their source (not sure since I've never dug through their github looking for it, you could technically build it for yourself if you were so inclined, but it's definitely not near a finished state so I wouldn't recommend it... While getting android to boot is a huge milestone, I suspect the vast majority of hardware needs drivers and stuff to get working. So not a DD yet. No easy flashable zip yet either... All building from source

It's been pretty quiet. Hopefully it's still an active project.

Nope. It's all behind-the-scenes though...
