Nice...... so far the only thing I've been able to use is winhex(since my Linux rig is down and I'm stuck using windoze)

And I'm not really too familiar with it yet.... I've only been using it for a couple, hours LOL .......

Side loading is fairly simple...... either put on sdcard and tap on it.... the installation dialogue comes up..... the other way is using adb to install.........

i sent a link for the setup wizard apk i think you can side load it if i did it right anywayThaks man I got it fine

Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I got the file fine and it installed fine but I still get the same error. Would it be to much to ask you to put all the .apk's in an archive and upload it for me? I really can't lose these texts they are extremely important to me.

Those say they are incompatible when I try to install them. Man this sucks. I know I made a complete back up of all the system APK's and I still have most of them but the one that I need is gone. :(

I tried installing the .apk's from the eclipse rom and i get filed because of uid changed and failed because of shared user incompatible. I am at a loss at this point. I am not sure where to go from here. lol

There is also may be another option ..... boot into recovery....(don't matter if its twrp... safestrap.....cwm) .... make a full nandroid backup...... make sure you have it on your external sdcard....... take sdcard out.(just in case).... run Matt's utility to restore your phone.....root...recovery... etc..... once you are up and running properly..... what says you can't try to restore just that portion of your backup..... or you can manually extract the backup files using your computer......:)

So safestrap would not work since I had to open the device. But here is what I did. I rerooted the device and I was able to get superuser priviliges in windows prompt and the com.motorola.setupwizard.controller is in data/data folder but when ever I try and pull it I get. Here is the sequence of commands I used along with the error messages I recieved.

cd ..
cd ..
cd C:\QtADB_0.8.1_windows\windows_binaries
C:\QtADB_0.8.1_windows\windows_binaries>adb devices
List of devices attached
TA59701DL7 device
adb remount
remount failed: Operation not permitted
adb shell
shell@scorpion_mini:/ $ su
su
root@scorpion_mini:/ # cd data
cd data
root@scorpion_mini:/data # cd data
cd data
root@scorpion_mini:/data/data # adb pull com.motorola.setupwizard.controller
adb pull com.motorola.setupwizard.controller
error: device not found

And that is as far as I can get. I am not sure where the text messages would be but I read somewhere on the internet that they are in the "/data/data"
so that is where I looked first. Does anyone see what it is I am doing wrong? lol I havent done any command line stuff in a long time.

Here is where all your SMS and MMS live...... /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db .... you said you can get superuser access in command prompt...... type this at command ....

su

mount -o remount,rw /data

adb pull /data/data com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db c:[backslash]data

See what happens :)

If successful..... you will have a complete copy of all your current SMS and MMS

Once you restore your phone you can use a root explorer (or adb) and put that database back in to the directory and all your messages should be restored....

Yeah sort of...I used the utility you linked o but when installing the system.img I get a low cache error but eerything else went fine. So I am tying to figure that out now. As soon as I get my computer I want to write up a tutorial on how to do what I did. Right now I am using my friends computer to do my stuff. lol

Thanks again for all your help!
