Suicidal embarrassment!
I got home and looked at her phone and it was still 2.3.6. When I asked her if it was updated to 4.0 she asked how to check. I told her how to navigate to the "about phone" menu and look under Android version. I guess she was checking for the numbers "4.0" instead of realizing what she was really reading. She confirmed numbers in the baseband version "cdma_n_04.07".
Gentleman please accept my most profound apologies. I know I have stirred up a bees nest of anticipation with my post.
I could not be more embarrassed than I am now. I will edit the subject header immediately!!

Either way, if it's true that ICS is rolling out in Greece, it's soon to come stateside.
Edit: at least change the OP.
I did include an edited line explaining the mistake. I didn't think deleting the whole post was proper. But I will if you guys think I should.

HEY NOW EASY WITH THAT! ARRG LMAOIt really didn't make a lot of sense on the heals of such a recent update. I still think it will be July-September before ICS rolls.

Getting back to .181/173 from .84/85 might never be possible. Doing so would require either a new bootloader that allows downgrading (unlikely) or an unlocked bootloader.

Purely conjecture on my part but it's funny how these things happen together even with different manufacturers.

Unless you just really want GB for some reason, there won't be any need to go back to .181 so it isn't exactly a big deal. Assuming they update the bootloader to a version compatible with, newer than, or the same as the leaked bootloader in .84/.85 everyone can easily get back on the update path.
