Do none of you back up your stock ROM? Do you then keep zips on your SD card? Do they not take up space as well? What do you do if your ROM screws up? Re flash and re set up?

No I don't back up stock that is what Matt's utility is for.... I zip is a lot smaller than a backup.... If my ROM is jacked up I can flash a different one or pull my sd card and transfer a different one to my card that is so much easier than all this backup stuff

I can see that. I may just give that a shot. See if I like it.

Something i didn't look at, is forced GPU rendering set? In 4.2 it is, what about 4.3? Wonder if that would help any with battery life.

What's with all the let's make a backup... you have a back it's called the zip u downloaded for the ROM...... So Can I ask y u need a backup?y not just stick with the zip u downloaded for the 4.3, 4.2.2, 4.1 or 4.0 rom. U know I have read up on these backups and they never really made much sense. If I ever run into a problem (a Boot loop) I go to my recovery wipe the system and flash the zip for a rom. to me that makes much more sense then all this backup stuff that takes a lot of time and valuable space Sent from my XT907 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2

I make backups so that I don't have to reinstall apps and tweak all of the setting how I like them when im jumping from roms (when I was deciding which I liked best). At one point I think I had 5 roms all backed up with my setting and apps all loaded so that I could easily jump from rom to rom. Now that I have settled on Beanstalk I make backups just in case an update breaks something (i.e call volume) and I can go back without having to reinstall everything.

I been having heating problems with the newest arrrggghhh kernel 10.2 it heats up sometimes and vibrates 6-10 times every time I turn screen on, send msgs, open apps. Its really annoying.

Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 4

Use the stock kernel.

I keep backups because I don't always have access to my computer to be able run a utility or fastboot.  Also, what if you need to recover, but your computer won't see your phone?  Just restore a backup.  If you ever have issues, don't come asking us for help, if you don't have backup.

Yeah arggghhhs kernel has an issue where the second core stays on max speed even if you try to govern it down so it's running at 1.9 ghz when it ramps up

I am at my wits end with this. I can flash 4.2.2 and 4.3 successfully and I can reboot all day long when running 4.2.2 and it will re boot. But no matter how many wipes I do I can not for the life of me re boot successfully when running 4.3.07. It always hangs on the Motorola logo. When I do flash 4.3.07 even from a clean flash all wipes and flash it always comes up with the wallpaper I had set before wiping. Like it is not completely wiping or something. When it hangs I can get back into TWRP and restore 4.2.2 just fine. Someone please chime in here.
Edit: Just for kicks I flashed Pac man 4.3 the most recent nightly. booted after flash went through initial set up and re booted. It booted just fine. So why not with Bean?
