Ok I'm having an issue I deleted my stock ROM i have a backup and just using ROM slot 1 running energy but now when I try to use safe strap it won't let me touch recovery or continue my screen doesn't respond since I'm running Android 4.1.1 does that mean I have to use a different older version of safe strap for it to work? I got my stuff backed up just can't go into recovery to flash it just doesn't respond. When I touch recovery or continue nothing happens.

Read the PM I just sent you.

You can't delete the stock slot on SafeStrap because SS is installed on it and it uses the stock system. Since your bootloader is locked, you'll always need to keep the stock ROM. SS works by allowing the custom slots to use the boot.img (kernel) from the stock slot. The only way you can recover this is to use RSD and flash the OS through fastboot.

Also, you can't use Matt's utility because it's designed for previous system version.  If you are capable enough to replace the newer files in the recovery, then you can use it.  Otherwise, you're stuck with SBF files and RSD.

Here's the SBF files to flash in RSD, use the second one (with .78 in the title):

Yes. For 4.1.1 use matt's utility to sbf back to stock. Through AP fastboot.

I'm pretty sure he's on 4.1.1. And I also think matt's 1.10 can be used.

His OP says 4.1.1, but now that you mention it, I think you're right about him not being able to unlock.

Yeah, he can use RSD if he's on the latest OTA.  I linked the SBF in my first post.  As for fastbooting, I guess we need him to respond with what actual system version he's on.

Hey so I got a RAZR M back in July and remember taking a software update didn't think anything of it(running Android 4.1.2 system version 98.16.3.XT907.Verizon.en.us) does that mean I can't run any custom roms? I tried using motopocalypse to unlock my bootloader bit I think its been patched because it still says its locked. Anyways I'm kind of a noob my RAZR has been rooted for three days so I'm still learning but I was just wanting to know if someone could clear this up for me or possibly throw me a link to some roms that I can use?

Thx.
This was his post from yesterday. When trying to flash originally. Looks like 4.1.2
Matt's utility 1.20 should get him back up.

Motochopper 1.3

If you used 1.3, you are on the latest update and can't use utility 1.20.  You'll need to use RSD.

Alright well the firmware is almost done downloading ill try flashing it. Do I have to open it in notepad and edit anything in the xml? Or can I just put it into rsd lite and decompress and flash??

Honestly, I'm not sure about modifying it.  When I had to do this once, I just flashed .xml without modifying it.  I've seen that some people have modified it, but I'm not sure why.
