I believe when you decompress it will flash only the XML. I think that is all that is needed.

You just flash the the entire xml.zip.  Make sure you are using the correct one and try again.

Oh also I just remembered I wasnt using the data cable that came with the phone I was using a different one and the battery isnt fully charged... Idk if that has anything to do with it. But idk how im supposed to know when its charged up all the way since it doesnt even boot up just stays on the motorola screen with no light indicating battery level.

Can you get into fast boot? If so it will say if battery is OK or low.

It said it was low and yeah ill do it in the morning when the phone is charged. I looked it up and the xml that RikRong told me to download is the correct one, maybe I just need a full battery and the actual motorola cable that came with the device. Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it. Im still new to this :/

Yeah, you definitely need a charged battery and an OEM data cable.  When charging, make sure you plug it into the wall charger.  If you plug it into the computer, it will try to reboot.  To get it to power off all the way, hold the power button down for atleast 10 secs, until the M goes away.  The phone should stay off.

You have to delete the getvar line in the XML.
