If you're concerned you can use the house of moto with the 79 FXZ, clean up the phone with the keep data script, reroot with motochopper 1.3, and then you'll be prepared for the ota... Or not. If you're not ready to take it after doing that, freeze the updater.

Cool I'll give it a try. Phone has been a little buggy anyway. Thanks

What someone should do is take a cleanly updated phone with root, dd extract the system partition, and build a new FXZ that uses the rooted system partition in place of the signed one, and replaces stock recovery with twrp. Then unlocked people only have to use that special FXZ with the house of moto in a one step mechanism. :) Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 4

I don't own an HD anymore else I would.  But the FXZ needs to be clearly labeled as *UNLOCKED ONLY* lest some locked user try to flash it thinking they're being clever.

OK wasn't sure if that would gum up the flash by removing that file. Thanks

Just open with 7zip .... pull it out ..... (I'd make a copy first, just in case)

I just used root explorer and extracted the files. Then I rezipped with root explorer and flashed. It said successful but I still have the 15p baseband and not the 17p. ?

Some people have been saying that the about phone is not showing the updated radio(s) .... but are saying that they are certainly getting better performance from the radio(s) ... I.e. better, stronger signal ....:)

The only place that I see that my radio was updated is when I swapped back to my Stock ROM. All the custom ROMs I am running show the old version
